Joint-Stock Commercial Halk Bank is one of the oldest banks in Uzbekistan. The first savings banks in Tashkent were created in 1875. In accordance with the decree of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 4, 1995, Uzzhamgarmabank was transformed into the State Commercial Halk (People's) Bank. Under the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 24, 2015 No. PF-4720 'On measures to introduce modern corporate governance methods in joint-stock companies', the bank was named "Halk (People's) Bank".
