At the Navoi State Mining University, scientific research is carried out in such areas of industry as mining and metallurgy, chemistry, energy, mechanical engineering, and automated control. Under contracts, research and development on topical issues is implemented, amounting to 30 mln UZS.
Today, the institute has established cooperation with leading mining and metallurgical universities abroad. These include the universities of Hamburg-Harburg (Germany), Twente (Netherlands), Moscow State Mining University, Moscow Institute of Metals and Alloys, Moscow State Geological Exploration University, Ural State Technical University, Tomsk Polytechnic University etc.
