The Second People's Summit of the Americas, organised by the Hemispheric Social Alliance took place from 17-21 April 2001, in Quebec, Canada. This major civil society event brought together a large mobilisation (estimated at 60 000) of representatives from social movements, labour and civil society organisations and networks from all over South, Central (including Cuba) and North America on the occasion of the Third Summit of the Americas.
