Since it was founded in 1995, the GSC Game World has become the most famous computer game development studios in Ukraine and a leading game dev company in Europe. Since 2004, the GSC World Publishing has launched its own global publishing house.
A revolutionary real-time strategy 'Cossacks: European Wars' with its two additions was the company's first hit breaking the treshold of five million copies sold worldwide.
In 2004, the studio received its first experience with licenses for Hollywood blockbusters. The plot and events of the Alexander Strategy are based on the famous movie by Oliver Stone. The game was released simultaneously with the movie and independently published by GSC in the territories of the former USSR.
Since August 2004, the GSC World Publishing has released seven projects: "Alexander" (2004), "Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars" (2005), "Cossacks II: The Battle for Europe" (2006), "Heroes of Annihilated Empires" (2006), "STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl" (2007), "STALKER: Clear Sky" (2008), "STALKER: Call of Pripyat" (2009).
