Founded 1859 as the only Norwegian agricultural post-graduate college. Renamed Agricultural University of Norway. Acquired present status and title 2005. Under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Research since 1997. Merger with the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science (Norges Veterinaerhogskole) 2014.
