Do not even consider this facility or program unless your issues are addiction based. I came to CRTC seeking help for depression with zero addiction issues. After trying to prequalify this with Paola and Ernesto, and assert to them the fact that I did not want a 12 step program, and expressed the need for intense counselling I was completely misled. I was told that this is a great facility for people with depression and it did not need to be a 12 step program for everyon, that they offered so much more. This is 100% false, their entire program solely revolves around 12 step programs and AA/NA methodology, meetings, and nothing more.They will basically tell you anything you want to hear to get you in the door and take your money. I was told that I would have a weekly meeting with a psychiatrist, a psychologist, and an occupational therapist. This is not the case. The psychiatrist only meets you once every few weeks at best for 15 minutes at the very most and not for counseling of any sort. The psychiatrist is only interested in pushing medicine on you. They want you medicated and make your purchase a prescription but then they won't even let you leave with it when your treatment is finished. They force you to leave it behind when you leave. I can't say much for the psychologist, I believe one weekly meeting for anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes is offered, but I can tell you that the occupational therapist meetings occur rarely and more so only if requested. There was one patient who was soon to be completed his treatment and hadn't met with his occupational therapist in over a month, he was terrified about how he would be reintegrated back into society and had no plan whatsoever. They include sessions of sound healing and yoga (maximum time allotted to these activities is maximum 4 hours of the entire 7-day week) but believe me when I tell you that 90% of this program consists of 12 step program and is addiction based only. This is 100% not the place for someone seeking help with depression if they do not have addiction issues. They treat you like an addict the minute you walk in the door even if you are not. They strip you of your personal belongings such as your ID, your wallet, your money, and credit cards, even your cell phone along with your medicine. Many patients had a hard time getting the meds that were even scheduled to be given. This is nothing more than a cash grab business that offers a 12 step program. Of the 18 patients that were there during my one week stay, three others also left early because they were unhappy, there were two other patients that were there only because they couldn't get a refund. Several of the patients were there after relapsing which only goes to show how ineffective the treatment they offer is in the first place. I saw patients there who were drunk during group discussions/class and the counselors didn't even notice or seem to care. You're basically treated like a prisoner regardless of the fact that they say you will have freedom, you don't. They say they will take you to and from doctors or dentist appointments and they refuse when it comes down to it and make you find your own transportation. I was told nothing but lies prior to getting there, and very quickly realized this and decided to leave the facility. They refused to offer me a proper refund after having changed my mind within the first 24 hours. They have no regard for their patients, or for contract law, this is a business without a heart. Stay away!!!
