Dentures can replace as few as one tooth, several teeth, or all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Partial dentures (“partials”) are acrylic teeth on a resin or a metal framework. This framework has clasps that curve around neighboring teeth to hold it in place. A partial can be removed from your mouth for regular cleaning. Partials are for patients who have lost some teeth but still have healthy teeth remaining. Partial dentures are easily modified if you need to replace more teeth in the future.
