Sione Tu'itavake Fonua was born and raised in Nuku'alofa, Tonga. One of 10 brothers and sisters, and a former Tailulu College student, Mr. Fonua graduated from The University of London at Oxford with a Bachelor's of Law with honors.
He married Grimsby-born Julie Fonua nee Britteon, and then migrated to New Zealand where they raised 3 children in the Auckland suburb of Ponsonby.
Mr. Fonua expressed a lifelong desire to return to Tonga and contribute to the Kingdom's budding tourism industry and create employment for his fellow Tongans. In 2016, he and his family made this desire a reality and now we present to you our 100% Tongan Family owned and built hotel:
