INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT & GREEN PEST CONTROL
PEST CONTROL AGAINST MOSQUITOES
During the rainy season in Cambodia, tiger mosquitoes are a major public health issue since they are dengue’s main vector. In the dry season, Culex mosquitoes develop in the standing water of the drainage system that is not flushed out until they become millions.
Therefore, our mosquito control is provided in up to 3 services to control the population at all steps of development:
1. Treatment of water source (water ponds and gutters) with an organic larvicide or guppy fish
2. Use mosquito traps from BiogentsBiogents Logo mosquito trap Luang Prabang that attract and catch mosquitoes with CO2 and a lure.
3. If needed, we can do punctual treatment by spraying eco-certified silicon surfactant on the vegetation, and potential nets if it falls outside the area covered by the mosquito trap.
The objective is to provide the most efficient treatment 24/7, with the most limited impact on the environment or no impact at all.
We never use thermal foggers. Indeed, these devices generate a toxic fog that is hazardous for users, clients, and nature.
RODENT CONTROL
We provide rodent pest control service using freshly prepared bait with cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). We use secured bait stations or tamperproof boxes, closed and with the rodenticide baits inside. Alternatively we also use mechanical traps outside to diversify the techniques.
Indoor, we use mechanical trapping system with a weekly check in the food production zone under HACCP rules.
At each intervention, the technician will check all the stations and boxes inside and outside the premises.
ANT DISINSECTION
Ant control service is provided with an insecticide bait gel that is odorless and harmless for humans & pets. The active matter is a natural toxin called spinosad. We will apply it close to each connection with the outside.
The ants will consume the product that is attractive to them (sweet) and they will return to the colony. Then they will regurgitate it to the other ants to feed them. This phenomenon is called trophallaxis. Indeed, they will be poisoning the other ants, including the queen. The ultimate objective is to eradicate the whole colony by killing the queen.
This treatment is valid for any ants except the large red ants (weaver ants) where mechanical treatment should be applied.
COCKROACH DISINSECTION
Cockroach disinsection service is provided with an insecticide bait gel that is odorless and harmless for humans & pets. The product will be applied during treatment in every wet room (kitchen, bathrooms/toilets) and every area liable to be infested.
To treat cockroaches in sewage traps, we spray micro-encapsulated insecticides that remain active for more than one month. To reduce the risk of insecticide resistance, we respect a regular rotation of active matter used.
To treat German cockroach infestations, we can also use eco-certified silicon surfactant even in kitchen as it is safe to use.
BED BUG EXTERMINATION
We avoid using insecticides against bed bugs since most bedbug stains have become resistant to insecticides.
Instead of chemical treatments, we use professional vacuum cleaning, hot steam water, and diatomaceous earth in the treatment against bed bugs. In addition, to avoid newly hatched eggs becoming adults, we use some remnant insect growth regulators that are still chemical, but much less toxic than insecticides.
TERMITE CONTROL
To exterminate termite colonies, we will install termite bait stations in connection with the colony. Afterward, termites will eat it and share it with the other termites. There is an insect growth regulator (low toxicity) and/or fungi with the bait and that will kill all the termites in a couple of weeks. When termite workers start eating the bait, they stop eating the other wood parts as our baits are of much higher palatability for them.
As it is impossible to estimate the size of the colony, the exact number of refills is unknown in advance. The whole process typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks.

Green Pest Control
“Culture eats strategy for breakfast” (Peter Drucker)
Pestlab Exterminator was originally created to offer the hospitality industry green pest control solutions as an alternative to toxic and useless fogging in South-East Asia. The green culture is deeply present, down to our roots. The core of Pestlab Exterminator‘s corporate culture is about eco-friendly thinking .
In 2021, Pestlab Exterminator received a CSR Award from Eurocham for its permanent commitment to sustainability.
In 2026, Pestlab Exterminator extends to Laos under the name Pestlab Eco Exterminator to reflect our concern about sustainability and our know-how in green pest management. By setting-up a small laboratory to produce our own fresh baits against ants, cockroaches, rodents and termites, the new Lao entity is literally the “lab” to test and produce new eco-friendly approaches in pest management. We are sourcing (as much as possible) locally produced raw materials as buying local fits our culture of sustainability.

Mosquito Control
Mosquito control is provided in up to 3 services to control the population at all steps of development:
1. Avoid mosquito larvae
We perform treatment of potential breeding sites (water ponds and gutters) with an organic larvicide. An alternative for larger-size recipients is to add guppy fish inside.
Another alternative against Aedes mosquitoes is to remove all the potential breeding sites and install passive Gravid Aedes Traps (BG-GAT) so that the gravid female mosquitoes get stuck inside the trap instead of laying their eggs. Unfortunately, this system is valid against Aedes mosquitoes (vector of dengue, zika, chikungunya) but not the other species.
2. Active CO2 mosquito traps
We use mosquito traps made by Biogents that attract and catch mosquitoes with CO2 and a lure. This technique continuously reduces the global population of mosquitoes around the trap without any risk to health (clients, staff, and users) or reduced efficiency due to insecticide resistance. The trap works 24/7 and that way it protects you all the time.
3. Surfactant spraying
When needed, we can adjust with punctual treatment by spraying a surfactant solution on the vegetation, potential nets, and external parts often watered if it falls outside the area covered by the mosquito trap.
The objective is to provide the most efficient treatment, in continuation, with the most limited impact on the environment (and no impact if possible). Therefore, we NEVER use thermal foggers. Indeed, these devices generate a toxic fog from diesel which is dangerous for the user, the clients, and nature. Instead, we use special sprayers that create a mist that is always under control. Furthermore, the surfactant is lethal for small-sized flying insects like mosquitoes, not for larger ones. Thus, the spraying saves bees, dragonflies, and butterflies.

HACCP standards
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points is a systematic preventive approach to food safety from biological, chemical, and physical hazards in production processes that can cause the finished product to be unsafe, and designs measurements to reduce these risks to a safe level. In this manner, HACCP is referred to as the prevention of hazards rather than finished product inspection. The HACCP system can be used at all stages of a food chain, from food production and preparation processes including packaging, distribution, etc.
🗏 HACCP Principles
Termites
Termite infestations are a significant concern in Luang Prabang, particularly on the Peninsula, but not only. Using insecticides that do not eliminate the entire colony—including the queen—only provides a temporary solution and allows the problem to persist.
To address termite infestations effectively and professionally, we install bait stations that target the colony directly. Termites consume the bait and share it with other members of the colony. The bait contains a high-quality insect growth regulator (with low toxicity) and/or specialized fungi that eliminate the entire colony, including the queen, within a few weeks.
Once worker termites begin feeding on the bait, they typically stop damaging other wooden structures, as the bait is more attractive and palatable. Due to its low toxicity, this method is safe for indoor use, including in environments with children and pets.
Because it is not possible to determine the exact size of a termite colony in advance, the number of bait refills required may vary. However, the treatment process generally takes between 6 to 8 weeks.
You may request an inspection to assess the situation in detail. In the meantime, avoid using insecticides in the affected area, as this may cause the termites to relocate to other (unknown) parts of the property, making effective treatment more difficult.
